Prerequisites:

  • This new LineageOS [Unofficial] 14.1 Android Nougat 7.1.1 firmware has to be installed on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Docomo) model only; if tried on other devices, it might get bricked [To check your device model: Go to Settings >> About phone >> model number]
  • Make sure the device is rooted before going forward for custom ROM installation.
  • Make sure to back all the data by installing TWRP in the smartphone.
  • Make sure to install USB drivers on the PC.
  • Make sure the device has more than 80 percent battery.
  • If you face force close, go to Settings >> Setupwizard >> Give permission.
Step-by-step installation guide
  1. Download the compatible [Unofficial] Lineage Os 14.1 update file for your Android Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Docomo) device and also download the Gapps.zip.
  2. Place the downloaded [Unofficial] Lineage Os 14.1 and Google Apps into the phone's storage memory.
  3. Turn off your phone and enter recovery mode on your Android device by long pressing Volume Down + Power key Simultaneously.
  4. Use recovery menu and select “wipe data factory reset”, after that choose “wipe cache partition”. Next, choose “advanced” and pick “wipe dalvik cache”. 
  5. Return to TWRP Recocery menu and from main menu of recovery now select “Install zip from SD card” and “Choose zip from SD card”. 
  6. Select the Downloaded Lineageos.zip package and Swipe right confirm flash the ROM on your Android device. Flashing of the ROM begins and after few minutes, a message 'Successful' appears on the screen, thus completing installation.
  7. Return to TWRP Recovery settings and tap 'Install' this time Select Downloaded GApps.Zip file and Swipe right to confirm .
  8. After few minutes, a message 'Successful' appears on the screen, Now Reboot your Mobile.


That’s it! Your Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (Docomo) should now have Unofficial Lineage OS 14.1 ROM installed on your phone! Go to Settings > About phone to verify.
